Built to promote the rollout of ‘new look’ Coles supermarkest across Australia, this microsite’s aim was to introduce customers to the new ‘market feel’ unique to these refurbished stores.
As lead developer, and with an extremely tight deadline, my role was to quickly construct a modular framework for the site’s construction. The modular nature of the project allowed other developers to work autonomously on discreet sections of the site with the goal of being integrated into a single functional site.
Due to the fast turnaround this site required, several freelance developers were brought on board to help with the workload. This required implementing a clear and concise workflow involving designers, developers and the project’s producer. For this I implement a daily scrum, a standing morning meeting more typically present in software development firms. Every morning, each project member was required to answer 3 questions; what they did yesterday; what they plan on accomplishing today; and are there any roadblocks causing them from finishing their work. I truly believe these meeting helped keep the project on track and delivered on time.
