Devil’s Lair is truly a mixed media site combining video of hand made paper cutouts, 3D and particle effects and audio. Devil’s Lair is an Australian wine brand located in the Margaret River region of Western Australia.
The core idea behind the Devil’s Lair brand is that of mystery and intrigue. The creative team at DDB Melbourne translated this into a website which tells the story of the Devil’s Lair in 5 chapters, each presented as a short video sequence.
As the sole developer on the project I was faced with finding the best solution for handling the loading of the site’s discreet sections in a polite, bandwidth friendly manner. Volumetric lighting complete with particles and a 3D navigation menu are things I’m particularly proud of.
